Whilst still a novice when it comes to sake, I wanted to try a new innovation to sake – Sparkling Sake. Designed and marketed to a younger audience than the traditional sake consumer the blue bottle with the wavy neck adds a young feel to the drink with the graphic floral pattern on the label.
The sake tastes extremely sweet with a slight effervescent taste to it. For me, drinking this on its own is too sweet, almost like drinking pure syrup however it does pair well with with fruit or cheeses with its floral and fruity aftertaste and aroma.
